TS-Optics NEWTON coma corrector 1.15x for full format - 3" connection

TS N-AGK3 coma corrector eliminates Newtonian coma in astrophotography; this 3" version is also suitable for cameras with large sensors.

♦ Suitable for Newtonian telescopes up to f/3

♦ Best illumination in its class - 100% for f/4 Newtons with a diameter of 54mm!

♦ ZEISS M68x1 level thread connection on camera side - optimal working distance: 69.3 mm - via optional VIP3010-M68 M68 adapter (see "Options")

♦ Does not produce spherical or chromatic aberration

♦ Suitable for use with 3" focusers

♦ 1.14x focal length extension

♦ Focus Shift 73mm Out - The corrector manages with a focus position of just 130mm above the tube.

Description

TS N-AGK3 3" Newtonian Coma Corrector with best possible lighting

Teleskop-Service has been developing and building the successful ONTC and UNC Newtonian telescopes for years. More and more people ask us for an optimal coma corrector for these telescopes. We are pleased to be able to offer you one of the most versatile coma correctors on the market with the N-AGK3, with convincing properties at an affordable price.

N-AGK3 Coma Corrector Features:

♦ 100% illuminated and corrected field of view: 54mm diameter at f/4

♦ Working distance: 69.3 mm from the M68 connection thread (telescope side) via the optional VIP3010-M68 M68 connection adapter

♦ Length 5.125"/130mm

♦ Focal Length Extension: Factor 1.14x

Adaptation on the telescope side:

The N-AGK3 corrector has a 3" barrel. Therefore, the focuser must be able to hold 3" accessories. This requirement is fulfilled, for example, by the large JMI Event Horizon 3" focusers or the TS UNCN3 focusers (see recommended accessories).

Camera Side Adaptation:

Thanks to the optional M68x1 thread connection, you can connect the full range of M68 accessories, such as our M68 off-axis guide. The VIP3010-M68 adapter (see recommended accessoriesb) is only 1mm long. From the M68x1 thread you have a working distance of 69.3mm to the camera sensor. This offers enough space for generous adaptations. If filters are used, you must add 1 mm to the working distance.

The TS N-AGK3 corrector compared to a 3" Wynne corrector - a lighting comparison:

♦ Conventional Wynne corrector: 137mm total length + only 57mm working distance: the focal plane is therefore about 194mm from the field lens. The fully illuminated field of view, limited by the field corrector lens, is about 29mm at f/4. Also, the Newtonian requires an extreme mount of 190mm from the edge of the tube to the focus. The secondary mirror must also be extremely large: around 40% of the aperture!

♦ TS N-AGK3 corrector: total length 130 mm + working distance 73 mm. However, this working distance is fully compensated for by the 15% extension factor. Therefore, the actual focus is only 130mm above the tube. The fully illuminated field of view, limited by the field corrector lens, is about 50mm at f/4. The secondary mirror can be sized significantly smaller, around 30% of the aperture.

So the advantages of the N-AGK3 over the Wynne concealer outweigh the disadvantages when it comes to lighting. To achieve a similar effective aperture ratio, a faster Newtonian can be used with the N-AGK3 comma corrector.
