Description

TS-Optics 3" Wynne Newton Coma Corrector with Enhanced Illumination

Teleskop-Service commissioned well-known optics designer Massimo Riccardi to further develop the proven design of the Wynne coma corrector. The problem with all Wynne concealers is lighting. Due to the overall length, the corrector's field lens casts a shadow. For example, Wynne 3" correctors with f/4 optics don't even get 30mm of full illumination.

 

The result of the development is the 3" Wynne TS corrector with significantly improved illumination and excellent sharpness in the field. In this way cameras with full-frame sensors and even large-format sensors can be used. At the same time, we were able to increase the working distance to 65mm, which makes it practical, all commercially available CCD and DSLR cameras can be used.The working distance here corresponds to the distance from the center of the rearmost lens surface to the sensor, i.e. back focus, and is largely independent of the telescope.

These values ​​are very close to each other, which explains why in practice a single distance of 65 mm can be used without loss of quality.

 

The benefits and features of the Wynne TS 3" concealer at a glance:

 

♦ Due to the short design of less than 100 millimeters, illumination is significantly improved compared to other Wynne 3" correctors.

♦ The corrector fits directly into the 3" sockets of the focusers - adaptation is very easy.

♦ Thanks to the practical M68 connection thread, screw connections to the focuser through individual adaptations are just as possible as direct connection of our range of M68 adapters, such as our M68 off-axis guide.

♦ Concealer is at least equal to conventional long Wynne concealers.

♦ Each lens is multi-coated with high quality. There are no reflections or ghosting, even with bright stars.

♦ The case is CNC machined and features a clean blackened interior.
