TS-Optics 3" Newtonian Coma Corrector and 0.85x Focal Length Reduction
Teleskop-Service has further developed the Newtonian coma corrector and now offers a reduction in focal length and an increase in light intensity at the same time. The focal ratio of a Newtonian f/4 is improved to f/3.4. At the same time, the coma is completely corrected.
The corrector can be used on all Newtonian telescopes with a 3" focuser. It can be clamped directly with a 3" clamping sleeve or screwed on with the M82x1 thread. We recommend the corrector for all Newtonian telescopes from 10" aperture.
The usable field of view of the TS 0.85x coma corrector:
The corrector illuminates 100% up to 46 mm with very good correction at the same time. A sufficiently large secondary mirror is of course a prerequisite. This allows you to use cameras with sensors up to full frame. For focusing, we recommend always shooting a star in the outer third of the field of view, so that you get very good sharpness across the entire field.
Adaptation of the camera to the TS 0.85x coma corrector:
The corrector offers three threads for camera adaptation on the camera side.
♦ External thread M76x1: This thread is occupied by the connection adapter for the screw connection.
♦ Internal thread M68x1: The working distance to the optimal position of the sensor is 61 mm
♦ Internal thread M54x0.75: The working distance to the optimal position of the sensor is 55 mm
Recommended adaptation to M48x0.75 with 55mm working distance - perfect for DSLR and astro cameras
♦ 2 tuning rings M68abstimm1, each 1mm thick
♦ M68a-M68a - Reverse ring to M68 male thread
♦ M68i-M48a - reduction to external thread M48x0.75
