The Wynne 2.5" coma corrector has been recalculated by Massimo Riccardi and now offers full illumination over full frame for Newtonian telescopes.
♦ Very suitable for Newtonian telescopes with an aperture ratio of f/3 to f/6
♦ Very good illumination and correction up to 50mm image circle diameter
♦ Wide working distance between 66mm and 71mm (depending on focal length)
♦ Adaptation to the focuser by thread M68x1
♦ Adaptation to camera by external thread M68x1 of the corrector
♦ The short design improves illumination and the concealer only needs a working distance of about 160mm from the tube
♦ First image on the left: similar, current layout is shorter
TS-Optics Wynne Newtonian Coma Corrector for Large Sensors
To correct the coma for Newtonian telescopes, Massimo Riccardi calculated an excellent 3-element coma corrector for Teleskop-Service. With a working distance of 66-71mm, the corrector offers enough back focus for all common CCD and DSLR cameras as well as off-axis guides, filter wheels, etc. This makes the 2.5" Wynne TS corrector an interesting alternative to the Wynne ASA corrector, which has a shorter working distance. In addition, this corrector offers better illumination due to the shorter overall length of just 100 millimeters.
Simple adaptation to the focuser via M68x1 thread:
The Wynne TS 2.5" corrector has a Zeiss M68x1 level thread on the top of the housing. This thread allows for a seamless screw-in adaptation to many focusers, such as the Moonlite 2.5" or the Starlight Feather Touch. The focuser only needs an M68x1 internal thread on the camera side. This thread has long been established as the standard for good focusers.
Camera adaptation and required working distances:
The TS 2.5" Wynne Corrector also has an external M68x1 thread on the camera side. This allows easy adaptation of interesting accessories such as the TS Optics M68 Off-Axis Guider. Most cameras with large sensors already offer an M68x1 connection. or at least the adaptation to this thread.
The working distances are always calculated from the start of the M68x1 thread:
♦ Focal length 600mm - working distance 66mm
♦ Focal length 800mm - working distance 68mm
♦ Focal length 1000mm - working distance 69.5mm
♦ Focal length 1200mm - working distance 69.75mm
♦ Focal length 1500mm - working distance 70.5mm
♦ Focal length 1800mm - working distance 71mm
