TS CF-APO 70/420 mm FPL55 triplet apochromatic

The fast, colorless 70mm Apo is equally suited to visual observing and astrophotography. Thanks to the FPL55 APO element (comparable to FPL53), the image is first class and in practice can no longer be distinguished from the world famous Russian LZOS lenses.

The smallest apo in the TSCF series impresses with a team normally only expected from larger apos. The lens is pure color and, with the right correctors, outshines even expensive telephoto lenses. But the mechanics and the focuser also meet the highest demands. The compact apo is suitable for small tracking mounts like the iOptron SkyGuider, the EQ3 or for good photo tripods.

The 70mm Apos lens:

The triple lens with 70mm aperture and 420mm focal length meets the criteria of a full apos. Even when enlarged by a factor of 220, the image is free from annoying color errors. Even bright stars show up in astrophotos without disturbing blue fringes.

The APO element consists of FPL55. Another special glass supports color correction. The air-gapped triple lens is fully adjustable. Each glass-air optical surface is multi-coated. The lens has an adjustable mount with temperature compensation.

The 2" rack and pinion photographic focuser:

The 2" CNC focuser is optimized for photography and can handle a load of up to 6kg. The focuser barrel is adjusted via a pinion gear. We also offer motorized focus for the focuser. An internal M54x0.75 thread is available for screw-in adaptations. The extract also offers a 360° rotation to choose the correct image section.

Astrophotography with the apo

A corrector is required to achieve an optimal image in the field. The corrector screws directly into the M54x0.75 thread on the focuser. We recommend two concealers:

♦ TSRED279 - Corrector 0.79x

The corrector reduces the focal length to 331mm and improves the aperture ratio to f/4.7. The working distance from the T2 thread is 65 mm. We recommend the TST2V10 - T2 10mm extension for cameras with a 55mm back focus. The corrector is screwed directly onto the M54x0.75 thread.

♦ TSFLAT72 - Checker 1.0x

The concealer provides maximum illumination. Does not change the focal length and aperture ratio. The working distance from the M48 thread is 55 mm. The corrector is also suitable for full formatting. It screws directly onto the M54x0.75 thread.
