Celestron Polar Wedge for NexStar Evolution 6/8/925 and NexStar SE 6/8
A polar wedge is required for equatorial operation of a telescope that is on a single-arm or fork mount.
The cradle is inserted between the tripod and the mount. By setting the polar wedge at the latitude of the observing site, the azimuth axis is tilted so that it is parallel to the Earth's axis. In this way, the polar wedge transforms the azimuthal mount into an equatorial one. In this way, long-term exposures are now possible, as there is no rotation of the field of view with equatorial mounts.
