Crayford focuser - Extremely flat for perfect focus
With the Omegon 2-Inch Newtonian Focuser, you'll have perfect focus in your own hands. A very flat design eliminates all focus problems.
Turn the focus wheel and you will immediately notice that the inner tube of the eyepiece is guided completely smoothly and without play. The entire drawer looks very stylish from the outside, because it was black anodized. Inside, however, you'll find a matte black coating that counteracts reflections with integrated grooves.
Sharpness is with you: flat focuser
With an incredibly low build of just 50mm in height, you can now focus on every object, with enhanced lighting. What if your eyepiece or camera needs to move a little more? Very simple: pull the integrated extension sleeve to the desired length.
An improved Crayford focuser
Bearing Type is the name of Crayford's new improved design. Even the Crayford focuser had the advantage of zero play focus. The secret of the Omegon focuser is a ball bearing: 8 large rollers keep the inner tube in a stable position. The pipe slides smoothly into any desired position. Another toothed rack makes the focuser very stable: the tube does not simply slide off, as is the case with "normal" Crayford focusers.
1:11 reduction for sensitive focus
An additional planetary gear ensures a fine 1:11 reduction of the Omegon Bearing Tye. This makes it easy to focus on a celestial object, as the minimum advance in the range of 1/10th of a millimeter gives you the best possible way to get to the point of focus.
Load capacity up to 8 kg
The focuser has a load capacity of 2kg when not attached, but up to 8kg when attached. Even this weight is free from deflection, which should be avoided in astrophotography. Most cameras and most astrophotographic accessories are no heavier these days.
Fixation for astrophotography
You can use a locking screw to fix the focus of your astro photos. So the focus mechanism is overridden and you don't accidentally change the sharpness. Here, too, the drawer has an advantage over Crayford's design. Because the screw only disables the mechanics, but does not jam the air chamber. The focuser is always centered and the "tube" is not "pressed".
Suitable for many telescopes.
The focuser base does not have a default radius, and for good reason. This allows you to connect the focuser to many different Newtonian telescopes. For 200mm aperture telescopes

Omegon extract is very good value for money and innovative technology. Thanks to its flat design, it allows better lighting on the Newton. In the past, flat extensions either had a short stroke or protruded far beyond the primary mirror when retracted. The Omegon has a smarter design here and works without shadows. The photographic fixation is not attached to the central tube and is therefore absolutely free of displacement. Uniform clamping for 2" and 1.25" eyepieces with a single screw and ring-shaped clamping reducer is smart too. A convincing product! Adapter plate 33360 is required for mounting on Skywatcher Newtonians. This plate also fits currently built Orion and Celestron Newtonians with a mirror diameter of 8 inches.
