This variable projection adapter is designed for 2" focusers, even accepts wider 1.25" eyepieces and can also be used as a focal adapter.
♦ Adapter for eyepiece projection and focal photography
♦ Intended for 2" focusers
♦ Suitable for 1.25" eyepieces with a large diameter up to 45mm - soft compression ring
♦ Camera connection via T2
♦ Modular consisting of three individual adapters - can be used individually
TS-Optics adapter for ocular projection and focal photography - 2" connection
The Deluxe Focal and Projection Adapter is a very high quality solution for all telescopes with a 2" connection.
It also accepts 1.25" eyepieces with a large diameter up to 45mm, such as Super Plössls with a 32mm focal length or wide angle eyepieces. These eyepieces are too thick for other projection adapters.
The advantages of the TS VPA 2:
♦ Many 1.25" eyepieces can be used, especially those with slightly larger diameters.
♦ The T2 connector can be moved, this allows the projection distance to be changed and therefore a "zoom effect".
♦ The eyepieces are held in place by a ring clamp with 2 screws, which prevents tilting.
♦ Components can also be used individually.
Components of the adapter, shown in the second image:
♦ 2" to 1.25" adapter with attached T2 thread and compression ring - eyepiece adapter
♦ T2 to 2" Adapter with Heavy Duty Compression Ring – Allows you to connect 2" accessories to T2
♦ 2" to T2 adapter to use T2 accessories on 2" focusers - 2" focal adapter
Note: The 2"-T2 adapter has a plain plug without a lock slot, which differs from the pictures.
Mounting the projection adapter, see figure 3 for the order of the individual parts:
♦ Step 1:
Screw the T2-2" adapter (image 2, center) onto the 2"-1.25"-T2 adapter (eyepiece adapter, image 2 left). The result then corresponds to image 4.
♦ Step 2:
Insert the projection eyepiece and fix it with the two eyepiece adapter screws. The result then corresponds to Figure 5.
♦ Step 3:
Slide the 2"-T2 adapter (focal adapter, picture 2 right) over the eyepiece and hold the adapter at the desired distance with the T2-2" adapter. The result then corresponds to Figure 6.
Teleskop-Service tips
Work with cameras without lens:
The greater the distance between the projection eyepiece and the camera and the shorter the focal length of the eyepiece, the larger the image. Too close a distance should be avoided. Shadowing could occur at the edge of the image field and the image tends to worsen. Recommended eyepiece focal lengths: 9mm to 15mm.
Work with cameras with lenses (for example, digital cameras):
The camera lens should be as close as possible to the eyepiece lens. That brings a valuable field of vision. Eyepieces with a particularly large eyepiece lens and long eye relief should be used. We will be happy to provide you with information on particularly recommended eyepieces.
Tip for using the eyepiece:
If you have an eyepiece with a rubber eyepiece, it's worth removing the rubber eyepiece so you can fit the T2 adapter even more easily.
