The solar filter for the Omegon Basic telescope
You observe the night sky, but are you also interested in observing the Sun? The Basic solar filter also allows you to do astronomy during the day! And the best part is, if you have an Omegon Basic telescope, it fits directly onto the lens. And you can start your solar observation right away!
The advantages in a nutshell:
connects directly to your Omegon Basic (or similar model) telescope
saves time - no touch up or build required
exactly matching plastic frame for many models
made with Baader Planetarium AstroSolar solar film of high optical quality (filter factor ND5)
cheap sunscreen
Perfect fit with Omegon Basic
The Omegon Basic Solar Filter comes already mounted on a plastic frame. That means you won't have to play or build anything. This filter makes it very easy to use: simply attach it to your Omegon Basic telescope and it's a perfect fit.
Solar filter sheet for safe observation.
This sunscreen is made from a special filter sheet that gives you a neutral white image of the sun. With a filter factor of 100,000 times, only 0.001% of the sunlight entering the telescope reaches your eye, meaning you can always safely observe the Sun.
For what and for whom is this sunscreen suitable?
This filter is great for when you want to look at sunspots and solar flares, and also for looking at graininess on the Sun's surface. It's also great for looking at solar eclipses - it's amazing to see how the Moon gradually obscures the Sun's disk.
Photography using the solar filter!
The Sun always shows some exciting detail. Keep track of spots and flares with your camera and become a solar photographer. You can also track how an entire sunspot group evolves. Nothing could be easier! By the way, the right adapter for your particular telescope can be found in our accessories section.
Our expert comment:

If using another brand of telescope, use the 'Telescope Front Diameter' column to see what outside diameter you need for the filter to fit your telescope.
a green code means the filter fits exactly
a yellow code means the filter will fit, but you need to glue on a thin strip of foam.
The filter does not fit directly to our Omegon AC 60/700 AZ-1 telescope (item #11267), but can be customized to fit. The scope of supply includes an adhesive foam ring with which the filter can be reduced to the correct diameter.
