Paracorr eliminates the coma associated with Newtons in photography; this 3" version is also suitable for cameras with large sensors.
♦ Intended for fast Newtonian telescopes (from 1:4.5)
♦ works up to 1:3 aperture ratio
♦ Does not produce spherical or chromatic aberration
♦ Use on 3" focusers
♦ 52mm 100% illuminated
♦ adaptable to various photographic connections
♦ 1.15x focal length extension
♦ Focus shift 73.3mm outwards
VIP-3010: specially designed for large camera sensors
Taking into account the trend towards ever larger camera sensors, TeleVue has now further developed the legendary PARACORR for large sensors (full frame or large format). To use this coma corrector, the Newtonian telescope must be equipped with a 3" focuser.
Features of the VIP-3010 BIG Paracorr:
♦ 100% illuminated and corrected field of view: 52 mm diameter
♦ Working distance: 73.3 mm from the 3.4" connection thread (telescope side)
♦ Length 5.125"/130mm
♦ Focal Length Extension: Factor 1.15x
Adaptation on the telescope side:
The BIG Paracorr has a 3" barrel. Therefore, the focuser must be able to hold 3" accessories. This requirement is met, for example, by the large 3" JMI Event Horizon focuser (see recommended accessories).
Camera Side Adaptation:
With our optional VIP3010-M68 adapter, you can connect the full range of M68 accessories, such as our M68 off-axis guide. The adapter itself is only 1mm long. From the M68x1 thread you have a working distance of 72.3mm to the camera sensor. This offers enough space for generous adaptations. If filters are used, you must add 1 mm to the working distance.
Visual use of the VIP-3010
You do not need a second corrector to remove the coma for visual use with your telescope. Instead, screw the TeleVue VISA into the BIG Paracorr first, then screw the TeleVue Tunable Top into the VISA. Now you can use your 2" or 1.25" eyepieces.
