FTF2015BCR LW Focuser: 2.0" diameter focuser with 1.5" drawtube travel and compression ring. Starlight Instrument has notched the focuser housing and custom machined the drawtube. This lightweight focuser weighs just 0.848 pounds. which is 0.278 pounds lighter than the standard Starlight Instruments 2.0 focuser.
Starlight Integrated Paracorr System (SIPS): The SIPS is an integrated focuser-mounted version of the TeleVue Paracorr Type 2. This coma corrector is powered by Starlight Instruments' finely engineered Feather Touch focuser and combined with TeleVue's world-class optics, which together, makes this the ultimate comma checker.
The advantages of the SIPS Coma Corrector is that, once installed, there is no need to manipulate the locking screws, turn on the flashlight to check their position, etc. This saves time and hassle. In addition, the mount is more rigid and flexing is greatly reduced. The SIPS coma corrector completely eliminates the need to readjust/calibrate when changing eyepieces. You will simply adjust the focus knobs on your Feather Touch focuser to view. Because of this, the SIPS Coma Corrector will save you valuable observation time, less discomfort, and ease of use.

A brief guide to installing the SIPS: The SIPS is optimized for the FTF2015BCR 2" Feather Touch and comes fully assembled, you just need the correct base. The integrated coma corrector moves the focal point out 47mm. That's exactly the total length of the SIPS.Therefore no need to calculate a new focus position.The focal length extension of the Paracorr is 1.15x.This just needs to be taken into account when choosing the correct magnification.
By rotating the Paracorr element, you can set exactly the correct distance to the focuser. This only has to be done once and then applies to all eyepieces. The distance depends on the aperture ratio of the Newtonian telescope.
The collimation of the Newtonian telescope: We recommend always adjusting the Newtonian without SIPS. This is easier because the Paracorr has an optical effect due to the extension of the focal length. After adjustment, you can simply re-insert the SIPS. The setting is maintained.
For which telescopes and application areas SIPS is suitable: We recommend the use of fast Dobsonian and Newtonian telescopes. SIPS is intended for visual observation only, not photography. For photography there is the Paracorr with the appropriate adaptations to buy directly.
