TS-Optics focal reducer and field corrector for Ritchey-Chrétien telescopes

Teleskop-Service offers complete image field correction of RC telescopes with focal length reduction to 80% at the same time. Pure telecompressors, like Astro Physics' CCDT67, reduce the focal length without correcting the image field. The result is an aberration (astigmatism) in the corners. The larger the sensor, the more pronounced the aberration.

The TSRCRED is specially designed for the field of view of f/8 RC telescopes, thus completely eliminating aberrations. The results are sharper, more precise stars and easier focusing.

This reducer is also the only reducer for full-size sensors that can be used on our 10" TS RCs with the large focusers, for example, like the TSFOCR30S.

Adapting the TSRCRED to the telescope:

You have two possibilities to adapt to the RC telescope. You can screw the corrector into the focuser or countersink it into the drawtube if you have less than 135mm of working distance.

♦ Adaptation via female thread M68x1 on the telescope side:

Using the appropriate adapters, you can attach the corrector to any focuser from 2.5". Simply provide the focuser with a male M68x1 thread on the camera side. Please note that you need a working distance of at least 135 mm from male thread.

♦ Adaptation with countersink of the corrector on the draw tube at the same time:

If there is less backfocus, we recommend countersinking the corrector on the draw tube. Thus, the necessary backfocus is reduced to less than 100 mm. We are happy to offer you the suitable adapters. For focusers with female thread M78x1, such as the TSFOCR30S, we already have the appropriate adapter under the item number M78a-M68a in our product range (see recommended accessories).

Adapting the camera to TSRCRED:

The working distance from the M68x1 male thread on the camera side is 82mm, so you have enough room for individual adaptations or accessories like off-axis guides. The male thread is not taken into account for the working distance, since it disappears in the connection adapter.
