The weight is made of stainless steel. It has a 1/4" external thread on one side and can therefore be attached to various dovetail clamps. The combination of the dovetail clamp and this weight creates an effective sliding weight system.

Multiple weights can be screwed together if one weight isn't enough.

Application areas:

Precise weight balance is particularly important for telescopes with fork mounts. Often it is not possible to move the telescope on the mounting bracket or it is very difficult, so the weight is balanced by this sliding weight.
