Starlight Instruments FTF2015BCR-LW: The 2-Inch Ultralight Focuser
The proven 2015BCR has been further developed to achieve the best possible weight savings while maintaining maximum stability.
The focuser was freed from excess material through cutouts and more precise processing and therefore weighs approximately 385g. It stands as stable as the normal extension and can be loaded up to approx 4kg.
Starlight Instruments 2" Feather Touch Focuser
The extracts of this manufacturer are among the best. All running parts are made of hardened stainless steel to achieve the best possible smooth running even under maximum loads. The focusers have no signs of wear. Even years later, the fit is the same as the first day. Hardened stainless steel wheels and a hardened stainless steel running surface ensure smooth yet highly precise adjustment.
The adaptation of the focuser to the telescope
The focuser has a dovetail ring that fits various Starlight and TS-Optics adapters. This allows you to attach the focuser to the telescope.
♦ Rear sight telescopes (refractor, Cassegrain...) - The focuser housing is very short, only 37 mm. Therefore, the focuser can be used with telescopes with a narrow focal position.
♦ Side View Telescopes (Newton) - matching bases are linked. However, the use of an extension is recommended, otherwise the extension tube will protrude too far into the tube when the shortest extension position is set. When calculating the focus position, the height of the focuser (37mm) must be added to the height of the spacer.
We recommend the R20-1.0 for Newtonian telescopes. The spacer has a height of 25.4 mm. The effective height of the focuser is then 62.4 mm + the 6 mm height of the Newton base.
Starlight Instruments 2.0" rack and pinion focuser with 38mm adjustment range
Feather Touch focusers are the best focusers in our experience and this focuser is no different. All rolling parts are made of hardened stainless steel and run on hardened stainless steel, which significantly improves smooth operation and increases long-term stability and strength. It will continue to show no signs of wear and tear for a long period of time.
The rack and pinion construction relies on positive locking, not friction locking as with a Crayford focuser, so it won't slip even under high loads. Therefore, this extract is a no-brainer of the highest quality, especially for astrophotographic use.
The focuser is particularly suitable for slightly upgrading our TS Imaging Star 65 Quadruplet (TSAPO65Q). You will find both the telescope and the necessary adapter in the accessories section.
Features and Benefits:
♦ Extension tube with hardened stainless steel strap
