The 2" high-end focuser offers a 50mm focus travel and is suitable for self-building and upgrading telescopes.
♦ 2" barrel with compression ring on eyepiece side
♦ Dovetail on the telescope side with a diameter of 69.6 mm; suitable telescope adapters are available
♦ Extension Tube Adjustment Range - 50.8mm
♦ Minimum overall height with inner extension position is only 37mm, but the extension tube protrudes a lot on the side of the telescope, so the extension is not suitable for Newtonian telescopes.
♦ No tilt guaranteed when fixing pull-out position
♦ 10:1 micro reduction for precise focus
♦ Particularly accurate 2" clamp - important for astrophotography
Starlight Instruments 2" Feather Touch Focuser
The extracts of this manufacturer are among the best. All running parts are made of hardened stainless steel to achieve the best possible smooth running even under maximum loads. The focusers have no signs of wear. Even years later, the fit is the same as the first day. Hardened stainless steel wheels and a hardened stainless steel running surface ensure smooth yet highly precise adjustment.
The adaptation of the focuser to the telescope
The focuser has a dovetail ring that fits various Starlight and TS-Optics adapters. This allows you to attach the focuser to the telescope.
♦ Rear sight telescopes (refractor, Cassegrain...) - The focuser housing is very short, only 37 mm. Therefore, the focuser can be used with telescopes with a narrow focal position.
♦ Side View Telescopes (Newton) - matching bases are linked. However, this focuser is not recommended for use with Newtonian telescopes, as the focuser tube protrudes far into the tube when the shortest focuser position is set. For Newtonian telescopes, we recommend the FTF2015BCR (or FTF2015BCR-LW), which has a smaller adjustment range and allows for a shorter drawtube.
