Daystar Instruments QUARK is the first Magnesium "Eyepiece"

Attach it to your refractor and turn it into a solar telescope

For use on refractors from F4 to F8 and up to 80mm aperture for short, non-tracking sessions.

From 80mm you will need an ERF Filter (Energy Rejection Filter) to use with tracking.

Recommended to always use the daystar UV/IR filter (article 63518) and mandatory from 150mm aperture

Magnesium shows a high contrast between the granulation and the limit of the spicule in addition to the emission of the pest

Magnesium, a bright green color, is easily visible at the center of the highest sensitivity of the human eye. Studies of the Mg line are related to the boundary layers between the granulation and the spicule. In addition to strong surface mottling and high-contrast graininess, the Mg line also shows the plague in equal or greater detail than the Calcium line. Magnesium wavelength studies will reveal Zeeman splitting in the absorption of magnetized areas of active regions.

The Magnesium filter is not compatible with red and yellow energy rejection filters, so it can be used with refractors up to 80mm in diameter (according to our products for sale) and using Daystar's UV/IR filter (Number 63518). short sessions without follow-up.

Below 80mm, the use of ERF (Energy Rejection Filter) is recommended for sessions with monitoring, in addition to significantly improving its performance.

No specific FWHM bandpass is designated, however the etalon will be about 0.3-0.5 angstroms
