Daystar Instruments QUARK is the first Sodium "Ocular"

Attach it to your refractor and turn it into a solar telescope

For use on refractors from F4 to F8 and up to 80mm aperture for short, non-tracking sessions.

From 80mm you will need an ERF Filter (Energy Rejection Filter) to use with tracking.

Recommended to always use the daystar UV/IR filter (article 63518) and mandatory from 150mm aperture

Sodium will provide details of sunspots, blights, granulation, and possibly supergranulation at high resolution, depending on the resolution and the viewer's vision.

Sodium can also show traces of flares, also known as flare grains.

The line is brighter than Calcium and even Hydrogen Alpha. So it will be very easy for observers to see and the exposures will be very short.

From 80mm, the use of ERF (Energy Rejection Filter) is mandatory and thus it is already suitable for observation sessions with follow-up.

Below 80mm, the use of ERF (Energy Rejection Filter) is recommended for sessions with monitoring, in addition to significantly improving its performance.

Just insert it into your diagonal, add an eyepiece, and see.

The QUARK contains a custom Daystar Instruments 4.2X telecentric Barlow lens fully optimized in coatings and optical design 

This highly specialized 4.2x telecentric lens offers superior field uniformity and allows you to achieve the device's ideal working focal length between F15 and F30.

No specific FWHM bandpass is designated, however the etalon will be about 0.3-0.5 angstroms

Observers can now choose to purchase a filter based on their observing goals rather than their budget.

Fully optimized design eliminates the need for adapters.

Everything is combined in a lightweight device the size of an eyepiece.

The new compact design configuration eliminates unnecessary components, weight and associated costs. We've even reduced power consumption, so Quark can now run all day on an optional small, palm-sized battery.
