Why can I adjust my Newtonian telescope so well with it?
The Cheshire eyepiece design offers you several benefits: Optimized length and simultaneous adjustment of the primary and secondary mirror.
Is that a problem with other adjustment eyepieces? Yes, because only with the optimized short layout you can easily judge the images of both mirrors. With a longer tube, the image would be vignetting and not symmetrically lit in focus.
