The City Light Suppression (CLS) broadband filter has been designed to improve the visibility of various deep sky objects.
This is achieved in part by reducing the transmission of wavelengths of light pollution, especially from artificial lighting, including mercury vapor lamps. But also blocking the emission of sodium vapor lamps and the harmful sky glow effect. Together with the highly transparent transmission lines OIII (496 nm and 500 nm), H-beta (486 nm), NII (654 nm and 658 nm), H-alpha (656 nm), and SII (672 nm), this filter is perfect for improving contrast and details for visual and photographic uses, in areas with strong light pollution.
with frame for mounting on Canon EOS cameras with full frame sensor
Attention: The filter can be used with EOS 6D, EOS 5D, EOS 5D II and EOS 5D III! The new models (EOS 6D II, EOS 5D IV) do not allow the use of this filter! The filter prevents the usual movement of the rotating mirror when capturing images. With the EOS 6D II and EOS 5D IV, this causes a malfunction in camera operation.
Suitable for unmodified color CCD and DSLR cameras
The CLS filter has a wider pass range than the UHC and is therefore ideal for observing in light to moderate light pollution conditions.
Light pollution filters do not remove its effects, nor do they increase the brightness of objects. In many cases it increases the contrast between the nebula and the night sky, without increasing the brightness of the nebula.
Attention, this filter must never be used only to observe the Sun!
