The ring allows the adaptation of Canon EOS cameras to M48 (M48x0.75) adaptations with minimal space requirements. The adapter builds up 1mm, but this adapter is completely sunk into the EOS tube.
Application areas:
You often want to fit an off-axis guider (eg, the TSOAG9M48) behind a flattener or put an ultrashort filter change in front of the camera with the TS filter drawer. This is now easily possible, with this adapter. A normal ring needs 10 mm of optical path, you save that path.
