This adapter has proven to be very important in many areas of astronomy. The extension sleeve simply threads onto the M48 filter thread of 2" eyepieces or 2" adapters and extends the insert sleeve. This can improve the fitting accuracy of an adapter.
These sleeves are also important in astrophotography when it comes to the correct distance between the corrector and the camera sensor. A few millimeters are usually decisive.
