This adapter connects accessories with an M54 thread to the M42x1 thread, which is often used on older cameras from Zeiss (Jena) or Russian cameras, for example. It is a true multifunction adapter. Above all, the adapter is used for:
Connection of CCD cameras, filter wheels or filter drawers with M42 connectors:
CCD cameras with larger sensors (eg ATIK 16200) or filter wheels from ATIK or Trutek have an M54 thread. This adapter establishes the connection to the M42x1 thread. For example, if you want to connect a good old Zeiss Jena camera lens or a Russian lens to a modern astronomical camera, then this adapter will take the lens.
