Telescope ED80 Black Diamond 80/600 DS NEQ5 SkyWatcher
TUBE FEATURES
The Black Diamond 80 ED is a modestly wide field telescope that offers wide swaths of bright sky in a single view. It is well suited for wide-field astronomical observation of prominent nebulae, star clusters, and galaxies from a dark sky location, or it can be used as an astrograph for sky photography. As a spot or telephoto scope, the Black Diamond 80 ED's performance is absolutely superb. The ultra-high contrast allows the finest details to be easily examined in good visibility conditions. The small silhouette of the Black Diamond 80 ED makes it an excellent compact and portable telescope that travels light and fits in a small space. At roughly 50 powers, structural detail is evident in the gas giants of our solar system like Saturn and Jupiter. The Moon also exhibits striking crater detail along the lunar terminator.
High transmission metallic lens coatings
Each air-to-glass lens surface has exotic anti-reflective metallic coatings applied to ensure optimum light output close to 99.5%. Sky-Watcher's "High Transmission Metallic Coatings" (MHC) are the best photon rejection coatings in their class.
Optical systems with light deflectors
The objective lens cell has a light deflector to reject stray and out of focus light. The extraction tube is also baffled to ensure optimal contrast. The inside of the tube is flat blackened to help prevent defocused internal light reflections from reaching the focal plane.
Dual speed 2 ”precision Crayford focuser is standard
Optical focusing is achieved by means of a mechanically ultra-smooth 2 ”precision double speed Crayford focuser assembly with no backlash. This focuser offers fine and ultra-fine focus adjustments.
Tube materials
Optical tube material is laminated steel, reflective glossy black powder coated with gold fleck accent. The front and rear cells are cast aluminum painted white or black.
Telescope tube accessory
The optical tube comes with mounting accessories that allow you to securely attach it to any Sky-Watcher mount. Quick release tube rings are supplied with Black Diamond 80 ED Hardware cast aluminum, painted white.
Components included for select models
Black Diamond 80 ED is supplied with 2 ”dual speed Crayford focusers and quality foam lined aluminum carrying cases as standard equipment.
MOUNT FEATURES
The EQ5 provides the precision and stability needed for serious observing. With single or double axis motor drive attached, it becomes the perfect instrument for deep-sky photography. Standard features of the EQ5 include a built-in holder for polar scope, a latitude adjuster with micrometer scale, an azimuth polar-alignment adjuster, aluminum setting circles, large manual slow-motion tracking controls, and a bubble level.
