Baader Fringe Killer Color Correction Filter 2"

The fringe killer blocks unfocused light in both the blue spectral range and the red part of the spectrum (IR) above 700nm

The most delicate details of lunar craters and planetary surfaces become much more visible!

flat-optically polished; can be used as a single filter in front of a binocular or for afocal projection with digital cameras (way ahead of the focal point!) without loss of sharpness,

It offers the brightest image of any industrially manufactured chromatic aberration correction system. This makes the Fringe Killer a MUST, even for telescopes with smaller lenses.

Baader Fringe-Killer 1¼" and 2" color correction filters

POLISHED PLANOPTIC AND PHANTOM COATING® GROUP COATED

Baader's Fringe Assassin

Baader's Fringe Assassin

The fringe killer (fringe = colored fringes) blocks unfocused light in the red part of the spectrum (IR) 100%, but above all suppresses more than 50% of disturbing stray light in the blue spectral range, without changing the impression Image color inadmissibly!

The finer details of lunar craters and planetary surfaces are visible in much higher contrast.

Baader's Fringe-Killer color correction filter prevents unwanted color fringing in both the blue and NIR spectral ranges above 700nm. The visual effect initially corresponds to a negative violet filter, but in contrast to this, the Image color remains largely balanced. In itself a contradiction in terms, and only feasible through the massive use of modern DWDM plasma-assisted coating technology, which allows about 100 individual layers to be applied perfectly and reproducibly to a plano-optically ground surface, and that without affect optical quality. . This fine optical precision tool also enables inexpensive Chinese refractors to achieve their promised imaging performance. The reduction in chromatic aberration corresponds to the effect of color correction lens systems, which otherwise cost 20 times more.

FACTS / FIGURES ABOUT THE BAADER FRINGE-KILLER COLOR CORRECTION FILTER

is a very valuable tool, both visually and photographically, for its construction

removes violet fringes and also red fringes above 700nm

forms a plateau in the range between 450 and 480nm at about 50% transmission rate, this is more difficult to produce in terms of coating than even the narrow band nebula filter

achieves the highest transmission of all currently available color fringing correctors in the pass band, either with filter or correcting lens. From 486 to 656 nm, all relevant deep sky wavelengths are fully transmitted. This provides enough visual light even at high magnifications.

Above 656nm (H-alpha), a very steep transmission edge starts at 660nm, so that the NIR blocking range is already 50% at 670nm and tends to zero at 690nm and completely blocked until 1150nm This also makes planetary details much sharper when using CCD/CMOS cameras.

BAADER FRINGE KILLERS COLOR CORRECTION FILTER HIGHLIGHTS

It offers the brightest image of any industrially manufactured chromatic aberration correction system. This makes the Fringe Killer a MUST, even for telescopes with smaller lenses.

It breaks up the intensity of disturbing blue-violet fringes in a new way that has never before been implemented in an astronomical filter.

Even faint color casts remain easily recognizable when observing the planets thanks to the excellent color balance.

in combination with a red RG-610 filter, this results in a narrow band Ha-pass filter with a window of only 70nm and 95% transmission at an incredibly low price

Combined with the neodymium skyglow filter (with Phantom Group coating) results in an impressively high contrast and balanced image for viewing the finest details of the moon and planets.

Plano-optical polishing means perfect image sharpness, even if the filter is mounted well in front of the focal point (binocular or digital camera insert).

no filter-related deterioration in image sharpness at high magnifications, as occurs with simple "flame-polished" (rough-polished) glass panes, which are primarily used in filter manufacture

HIGH QUALITY COATING: Hard plasma enhanced dielectric coating, scratch and water resistant. Around 50 individual layers on each side, carefully arranged so as not to impair the high optical quality of the support surface

Improves the chromatic aberration of a cheap f/8 refractor to the image quality of a classic f/15 Fraunhofer refractor.
