2" Crayford focuser for Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, prevents mirror drift
♦ Suitable for small SC thread
♦ Also suitable for accessories with a plug size of 1.25" thanks to the supplied adapter
♦ 2" filter can also be used for 1.25" eyepieces thanks to the adapter's 2" filter thread
TS-Optics 2" Crayford Focuser for Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescopes
Shifting is always a problem with Schmidt-Cassegrains and many other primary mirror focusing devices. A good Crayford extract is a great way to avoid this change.
This focuser is the ideal solution for astrophotography, including adaptation to the small 2" SC thread. The focuser does NOT fit the large SC thread!
The special advantage of the TSFOCSC: adaptation to the small 2" SC thread
The SC adapter fits Celestron small Schmidt-Cassegrain thread.
Practical information from Teleskop-Service: What is change?
Anyone who works with Schmidt-Cassegrains, Makutovs... just all devices whose focusing occurs by shifting the primary mirror will inevitably come across the term "mirror shift".
When the main mirror is pushed back and forth, it tilts minimally. When looking through the eyepiece, the star jumps or shifts during focusing. This is called mirror shift. This wobble of the star during focusing can be avoided with suitable focusers that are screwed onto the telescope. Coarse focusing still occurs with the primary mirror. Fine focusing is then done with the focuser.
