Complete TS package for successful astrophotography with Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes from Celestron.
♦ Get your Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope ready for astrophotography – with the complete Teleskop Service package!
♦ 4-element corrector to reduce focal length and increase aperture from f/10 to f/6.3.
♦ Very good field of view correction with significantly better field sharpness than at f/10.
♦ Powerful TSOAG16 off-axis guider for precise tracking. A guide telescope is no longer necessary, the stars become exactly round. Easy adaptation of the autoguiding or reticle eyepiece through the T2 adapter.
♦ Complete adaptation to T2 - You only need a T2 ring and you can take photos with your DSLR camera through the SC telescope.
TS Optics astrophotography package for all Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes
Package fits all SC telescopes from 5" to 16" aperture. It simply screws into the 2" SC thread on the telescope and makes the Schmidt-Cassegrain suitable for astrophotography. The complete kit not only gives you valuable individual parts at a low package price, but also ensures optimum coordination of the components with each other and with the Telescope and therefore very good photographic results.
The SC photo package offers you:
♦ Reducing the focal length and increasing the luminous intensity: The focal length of the Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope is reduced and at the same time the luminous intensity is increased from f/10 to f/6.3. The necessary exposure time is reduced to 40%. For example, the focal length of a C8 is reduced from 2000mm to 1260mm.
♦The stars in the field become sharper: The 4-element corrector not only shortens the focal length, but also improves the field correction. Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes have a very curved field of view. The corrector levels this field. The stars at the edge of the shot become smaller and sharper, and the crop size increases.
♦A powerful off-axis guider for precise tracking: To achieve very beautiful images of nebulae and faint galaxies, the exposure time must be longer. An off-axis guide hides a light beam near the edge through a small prism, and the stars in this light beam are used for tracking. The advantage compared to a guide telescope: it saves costs, the mount is less stressed and the stars are rounder because the same optics are used to track the photos.
♦The set produces the direct fit for your DSLR or CCD camera: The working distance from the T2 thread on the camera side to the camera sensor is exactly 55mm. Adapting a DSLR is very easy: screw on the T2 ring (see recommended accessories), take the DSLR camera and go. CCD cameras can also be retrofitted without any problem.
Connecting an autoguider or tracking eyepiece to the off-axis guider:
The stable TSOAG16 from TS Optics is used as an off-axis guide. The off-axis guider has a T2 thread on the side for attaching an autoguider or crosshair eyepiece.
Focusing autoguider is easy:
♦ First use the main camera to focus on the object.
♦ Loosen the small set screw on the T2 lateral adaptation of the off-axis guide.
♦ You can now move the autoguider to achieve the optimal sharpening position without changing the focus position of the telescope. This is how you optimally adjust the autoguider or eyepiece position to the camera, then you can start recording.
♦ You only need to do this calibration once. We recommend the moon or a distant object (more than 1 km) underground, like the top of a church tower, an antenna...
