TS Optics Off Axis Guide for Canon EOS Cameras

This off-axis guider is specially designed for Canon EOS DSLR cameras and offers an optimized distance of exactly 55mm including camera from the M48 threaded connection. With the optional adapter ring TST2-M48S (see recommended accessories), the threaded connection can be reduced from M48 to T2.

The TSOAG11 thus takes over the task of the T2 or T-ring and also offers the option of self-guiding tracking. The TSOAG11 is exactly the same overall length as a T-ring, i.e. 11mm. You can simply replace your T2 ring with the TSOAG11 and you will automatically have the optimal distance.

How the TSOAG11 works:

A small prism hides a beam of light near the edge of the beam's path. The prism is placed in such a way that it does not cause shadows. The stars that are in this beam of light can be used for tracking. A field with a diameter of about 7 mm is available. With the right autoguider you will always find a guiding star.

The special construction of the off-axis guide allows only one camera position. The side view position is directed exactly towards the bottom of the camera. This is also desirable, because the position of the small mirror is adjusted exactly so that there are no vignetting. The camera sensor is fully illuminated. We can guarantee full illumination up to a light intensity of F/3.8. To mount the guide off-axis, the side adapter T2 must be removed.

Working with the TSOAG11 is easy. Set the desired object in the viewfinder of the Canon DSLR camera. Check the sharpness setting on the focuser and get ready to take the picture. Next, check if your autoguider already shows a guide star. As a rule, there will even be several to choose from.

The prerequisite is, of course, that the autoguiding focus sharpness be adjusted. You can find brief instructions on how to do this under "Testimonials". Then prepare the autoguiding process and start recording.
